The High Call of Distant Pipes – A Review of the Klipsch R-14PM

Indeed. That’s my review. A speaker review! And THL hasn’t ‘sploded! I say we do this again before too long.

I like the Klipsch R-14PM. For my tastes, I think I like my Emotiva more. But when I first hooked these up, there was no mistaking the quality they exude. The R-14PM is expertly made and absolutely wows you with charm. If you’re a treble head, and lust for all the details, these are for you. Hell, if you’re just looking for a set of gorgeous-sounding reference monitors—and who isn’t?—these are also for you. The only person who might not enjoy Klipsch is the treble shy, or those who desperately don’t want any brightness in those upper registers. Everybody else will find something to love in what the R-14PM offers. They do their thing wonderfully well.

Pinky Powers

Pinky is an artsy twat. Illustration, graphic design, writing. Yet music escapes him, and always has. He builds his own cables, and likes to explore the craftsmanship of others. He's a stabby one, also. At the first hint of annoyance, out comes the blade. I say he's compensating for something... in a big bad way. If we all try really hard as a collective, maybe we can have him put down.
