A Brief Comparison

Apos Audio Rock Lobster

Price: $100.00

+ Kitschy theming with a faultless build

+ Excellent ergonomics – as comfortable as the vicace

+ Mid-bass dominant sound signature for a dynamic and engaging listen

+ Forgiving tuning

– Slightly dark, with a softer treble response

– Upper-treble lacks equal energy and bite to the Vivace.

Tripowin X oB Audio Vivace

Price: $39.99

+ Well-finished resin-build that is both durable and lightweight

+ Excellent ergonomics, sitting in my ears snugly with not prominent hotspots.

+ Pleasant and non-offensive signature, but a clean presentation from top-to-bottom

+ Warm and inviting midrange and satisfyingly balanced-but-dense bass response.

– Above-average imaging but weak, narrow staging

– Upper-treble lacks energy and bite.

Conclusive Remarks

The Rock Lobster doesn’t ignite new trends, but it’s a straight-shooting, no-nonsense IEM that lets you kick out the jams. It’s not a technically proficient virtuoso, but it’s a great ball of fun and it adds a sombre edge to the wails of teen angst amidst mid-west suburbia.
