Audio Technica CK10

The Audio Technica CK10 is a stalwart of dual BAs and my first. Placing you right in front of the performance, the CK10 presents with excellent detail and imaging when coming from dynamic driver IEMs of the time, and offered exceptional clarity as well. While bass response was linear, the CK10 isn’t great at sustaining deep bass notes and can sound bass light depending on the track.

The latest crop of dual drivers are cheaper and arguably offer better performance in certain aspects.  While the CK10 offers good detail, there is little volume difference between the main and subtle notes, and many nuances just aren’t reproduced.  For the price, and at the time of release the CK10 was an excellent performer and an acquired taste, but is now discontinued.
