Apos Audio today announced the Apos × Community Druid R2R DAC, a fully discrete ladder DAC developed with direct input from the Apos audiophile community.
Built around a precision R-2R resistor network and an XMOS XU316 USB interface, the Druid delivers a warm, natural, and highly musical presentation without oversampling or delta-sigma processing.
In response to community requests, the Druid features tool-free, swappable op-amps accessible through its open-top acrylic chassis — a rarity among R-2R DACs. It ships with three Texas Instruments LM4562NA/NOPB op-amps tuned for smooth, vocal-rich performance.
The Druid R2R DAC is available for pre-order at $145 (regularly $160) on Apos Audio official website, with the first production run of 500 units shipping in late December 2025 to early January 2026.
