Noble launches FR and PR variable-tuning in-ear monitors

Noble Audio has announced the launch of two variable-tuning universal in-ear monitors – the Noble FR and PR. Each of these earphones features two sets of balanced armature drivers and passive crossovers, which provide two different sound signatures. The user can alternate between the two tunings via a switch on the faceplate.

The FR model features an F “full-range” configuration and an R “reference” configuration. The PR features a P “pure” configuration and the same R “reference” configuration as the FR. Both the FR and PR are priced at $699.

The product page for the Noble PR and FR can be found here.

Aside from a difference in specified impedance, it is unclear how the F and P tunings compare to each other at this point, but from the description I would guess that the “F” is bassier while the “P” is brighter. The descriptions of all configurations are certainly very appealing; hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on these at some point to see how they stack up to the Noble 4S, which has become one of my favorite reference monitors in the past six months or so.

The R (“Reference”) configuration can also be added to Noble 3C, 4C,  and 5C acrylic custom IEMs for an extra $275 fee.

In addition, Noble has launched a line of handcrafted universal-fit monitors. Priced above their generic counterparts, these earphones are one-offs designed by one of the company’s founders, The Wizard himself. More info and the currently-available Wizard units can be found on the Noble website here.
