Astell & Kern are one of those legendary names that are instantly associated with their product sector. One of their most popular models includes the SR25 as it struck a good balance between portability, price and performance, making it a great introduction to the premium A&K experience. On top of such success, the company has revised this model in the form of a MKII variant, introducing new features such as 4.4mm balanced and refinements to the overall design.
Changes include improved sound performance, a new 4.4mm output and replay gain support up to 24-bit/192kHz. Other features have filtered down from their SE-devices including AK file drop and BT Sink that allows the SR25 MKII to function as a BT receiver. Externally, the shape has been refined with a new more defined volume wheel design and a darker mercury silver finish. Additional internal silver-plated shielding as seen on the flagship SP2000T has also been introduced.
The SR25 MKII just launched for $1099 AUD/$1199 NZD. You can read more about it and find an authorised distributor via BusiSoftAV.
