I’m sure Fiio require little introduction, the company has been making high-performance, cost-effective devices for over a decade. The M11 was one of their most popular releases for its adoption of a sleek, Android-based UI. It was later updated with the Pro model which represented a spec bump all around. The new M11 Plus takes this one step further.
The CPU has been upgraded from the Exynos 7872 to the 8-core Snapdragon 660 promising a more fluid UI experience in addition to better multi-tasking with an upgraded 4GB of RAM to match. It comes pre-loaded with Android 10 but retains the same 64GB storage capacity of the M11 Pro. While the overall design is very reminiscent of the Pro, the Plus features a larger 5.5″ screen making it essentially bezel-less similar to modern smartphones. In addition, it implements physical volume buttons for more convenient portable use.
The audio hardware upgrades are where things get more interesting, the Plus adopting a dual AK4497EQ setup paired with THX AA-78 amp module. As the AK DAC chips are out of print due to the unfortunate factory fire, the M11 Plus will be a limited edition product. Fiio is also offering a stainless steel edition that comes in at a $150 price premium. As before, the M11 Plus offers 3 outputs, 3.5mm single-ended plus 2.5mm and 4.4mm balanced.
The M11 Plus is available in limited quantities, 6000 units for the aluminium alloy version and 1000 units for stainless steel. It retails for $749 and $899 USD respectively. You can read more about it and treat yourself to a unit on HiFiGO and Apos Audio!
