Sennheiser are one of those rare companies that bridge the gap between consumer and boutique audio with a vast range of products underpinned by sound German engineering. Their Momentum True Wireless while no longer so lauded, was at its time of inception, considered the pinnacle of true wireless audio. The CX true wireless continues this legacy, implementing in-house German-made drivers but at a far more reasonable price.
The CS True Wireless is compatible with Sennheiser’s Smart Control app allowing for EQ support and firmware updates. It supports the latest BT 5.2 standard alongside SBC, AAC and aptX codecs to ensure minimal wireless quality loss. Sennheiser are also touting all-day battery life with 9hrs of continuous runtime augmented by an additional 19hrs from the included charging case.
They were designed to be stylish and minimal with compact shells topped by an IPX4 splash-resistance rating for more versatile day to day operation. As with the Momentrum True Wireless 2, they support sidetone with their dual microphone setup, allowing the speaker to hear their own voice for more natural phone calls in addition to aware mode, however, no active noise cancellation is present.
The CX True Wireless will be available for purchase soon in both matte black and matte white for $199 AUD, representing the cheapest Sennheiser true wireless model to date.
