I’d once again like to thank Eric Chong for his enthusiasm and continued support, without which this review would not have been possible.
Very few brands come close to weaving classic romanticism into the very fabric of their IEM cables like Singapore’s Eletech (pun fully intended).
Whether you’re buying a basic copper cable or a sophisticated blend of gold, silver and copper alloys, Eletech’s Eric Chong will have you believe you’re getting a cable forged in antiquity itself.
That’s not to say Eletech is all about tall stories; far from it. The company makes some of the most respected products in the industry, at various price points, and generally delivers excellent value even at the higher end of the scale. Still, the fabled imagery is very much part of its culture.
Take Eletech’s latest high-end cable, the $1,999 Odyssey, for instance. If you read the documentation, you’ll know it belongs to what Eric calls the Parnassus Series, Eletech’s premium tier. Inspired by Raphael’s The Parnassus, a grand Renaissance-era fresco in the Vatican Palace, these cables draw on imagery from ancient classics, and represent what Eric considers the best of the best in cable design.

Odyssey is thus the spiritual successor to two previous (now discontinued) Parnassus Series cables, Iliad and Aeneid. Iliad, which blends monocrystal silver wires with palladium plated silver and gold-silver alloy, was famed for its startling clarity, vast soundstage and pinpoint imaging. Aeneid, on the other hand, made of pure bespoke OCC gold-plated silver, infused a gentle warmth and lush musicality into a more intimate, musical presentation.
According to Eric, Odyssey was named after the second of Homer’s poems depicted in the Parnassus:
“It inherits the spaciousness and imaging of Iliad, while adopting Aeneid’s smoother warmth. It’s not just a blend of the two, it’s a recalibration and re-experimentation. We took the essence of what made each cable special and evolved it with modern design sensibilities to create something new, yet familiar.”
In this in-depth review, I’ll take a closer look at what makes Odyssey tick, explore how it sounds with some of today’s popular high-end IEMs, and compare it to Eletech’s current flagship cables.
Continue to refined technology and design…
