average_joe: His defining moment came early on one Christmas morning when he got his first Sony Walkman and was blown away with the huge sound from such a small device. This lead to a lifelong love of audio that initially included auditioning any and all gear he could find, reading Stereophile magazine compulsively, and scraping together his money to buy better and better gear of his own. Back to the Sony Walkman roots, he now focuses on higher end portable gear, writing thorough, detailed reviews that include head-to-head product comparisons and matching of various components. He has an extensive custom in-ear monitor collection, all scored in his CIEM review list.
ole4ka0516: Olga’s love of music started with her father’s 200-album vinyl collection and Radiotehnika S-90 stereo system, and her love of portable Hi-Fi – with the AKG K3003 and noisy college dorms. The college dorms are gone, but the passion for headphones has remained. Luckily the other love in her life – her dog – gives headphones a wide berth so she can work in peace.
jelt2359: When jelt2359’s Shure earphones stopped working ten years ago he was forced, kicking and screaming, to replace them, and naturally ended up buying more than 20 new IEMs. jelt2359 is focused “mostly” on attaining portable music nirvana. He flies to a different city almost every week for his work, and is always looking for the perfect audio setup to bring along.
