Astell & Kern is renowned for their high-end DAPs and lately, their collaboration IEMs and portable sources. The HC4 is the latest addition to this lineup, promising to combine sound quality comparable to their DAPs along with the convenience of a modern smartphone. The HC4 incorporates AKM’s flagship AK4493 DAC chip and offers an exclusive AMP circuit that offers superior performance to SOC solutions and stable output power through its dual outputs (3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced).
Equipped with DAR (digital audio remaster), Astell & Kern offers upsampling and low latency. Special consideration has also been given to the rear audio output design to minimise noise. Unlike previous AK dongles, the cable is also removable thereby offering support for Apple devices alongside Type-C devices.
The new Astell&Kern AK HC4 will be available from Addicted To Audio and selected dealers for AUD $399.95 or NZD $449.95 both in store and online.
